Sun Bed
How does a sunbed work?
When our skin is exposed to UV Light, our body initiated the process of producing more melanin using cells deep in our body called melanocytes. As the production of melanin increases and rises to the surface of the skin the body builds a resistance to UV light and “browns”.
People will react differently to UV light rays - darker toned people produce melanin faster at a higher rate. The skin of very fair people contains very little melanin and due to their inability to produce more they burn instead if producing melanin and thickening skin, so they will not tan in sunlight or on a sunbed.
If the natural tanning process is rushed, sunburn will result. Our skin has a natural repair mechanism but if this is triggered off too frequently, it may become exhausted and result in permanent damage to the skin. It is essential that skin is not allowed to burn.
Our trained staff are experts in doing skin consultations and will help you develop sun tanning plan for the best and safest results.
Tan Enhancers and Extenders are additional products that can help develop your tan in natural or UV light. The enhancers give you a deeper, darker and faster tan.
